Eitan Katz, B/R New England Patriots Featured Columnist

The New England Patriots have no sure-fire running back of the future on their roster right now. Clearly, guys like Danny Woodhead and Kevin Faulk will never be featured backs, while BenJarvus Green-Ellis, Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen have all been inconsistent.

Ridley and Vereen are still young, however, and have shown flashes of potential.

Anything could happen with those two, and so the possibility exists that the Pats have their man. I venture to guess, however, that New England is more likely to find it's future running back in the draft or through free agency.
