Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has always been one to make his opinion heard, and the Celtics have made chemistry a staple in their formula for success over the last few years.
That's why when players were rushed to begin the NBA season on Christmas after an extended lockout, it was no surprise that Garnett was about to erupt.
Well, erupt he did on Tuesday, complete with an interesting analogy.
Said Garnett, via ESPN:
Timing is everything. Chemistry is something that you don't just throw in the frying pan and mix it up with another something, then throw it on top of something, then fry it up and put it in a tortilla and put in a microwave, heat it up and give it to you and expect it to taste good. You know? For those of you who can cook, y'all know what I'm talking about. If y'all can't cook, this doesn't concern you.
Regardless if you can cook or not, this is an important story, because it highlights the divide between the NBA and its players, a divide that hasn't exactly grown closer since the two sides agreed on a new collective bargaining agreement.
The Celtics only got a full roster on Monday, and they now have 12 days to miraculously work in new players before Christmas.
Garnett wasn't the only Celtics player to voice his opinion. The normally quiet Ray Allen gave his two cents, too.
Said Allen:
I feel very rushed. I can't say that I've been particularly happy with the way things have transpired over the last two or three weeks, but I think everybody is in a situation where we just have to do the best with what we have.

It is pretty remarkable how quickly the NBA expects players to get ready for the season, even if it's less grueling at 66 games. I think we can all agree a lot of it has to do with money.
Not only will we see some rusty teams on Christmas, there's also the potential for more injuries with less time to get physically ready. Allen says the Celtics aren't in too bad shape, but head coach Doc Rivers has reportedly expressed concern.
For a Celtics team that is no longer technically the "Beast of the East," it needs all the chemistry it can muster going up against the defending Eastern Conference champion Miami Heat.
One thing's for sure: there isn't much chemistry between commissioner David Stern and the players right now.
