Knicks on verge of signing C Chandler (AP)

The New York Knicks went into the offseason knowing they needed a defensive-minded big man to take the next step. "You didn't think we were going to do this though, did you?" coach Mike D'Antoni said Friday. The Knicks may have surprised even themselves by scoring one of the top free agent targets available, former Dallas Mavericks center Tyson Chandler.
