Pistons hire Catanella for analytics (AP)

The Detroit Pistons have hired Ken Catanella as director of basketball operations. Catanella joins the Pistons after working with the NBA's league office. The team says he'll direct the Pistons' analytics efforts and be their salary cap specialist. Joe Dumars is Detroit's president of basketball operations.
