Boston Celtics Send Their Big Four To The All-Star Game After Reserves Announced
Kevin Garnett has made history after being named to his 14th straight all-star team yesterday. He will be joined by teammates Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo.
The Celtics are the best team in the eastern conference with a record of 37-11. Garnett has missed some time this season due to injuries, but has put together another very good season averaging 15 points and nine rebounds.
Rondo has emerged as the star of this group. He is having the best season of his young career with 11 points and 13 assists per game. His shooting has improved every year of his career, and this year it's at 52 percent.
Allen is having another fantastic shooting season. He is averaging 17 points per game, and shooting 51 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range. He gets older, but that shot has never looked prettier.
Pierce doesn't have a pretty shot, but he knows how to find the basket. He leads the team in scoring at 19 points per game. He is having the best shooting year of his career by far, 51 percent from the field and 42 percent from beyond the arc.
You can tell looking at these numbers that this team is so good because everyone gets an equal opportunity. There is no one player that really stands above all the others. That's why they are the favorites in the East. No one can match the depth that the Celtics have top to bottom. The only team that might be able to hang with them in a seven game series is San Antonio.
This team is dangerous, and their key players got rewarded with a trip to the all-star game this year.
