Just a few minutes ago, Michigan State director of basketball operations Kevin Pauga tweeted the following:
Despite reports, MSU-Iowa game (8:30 ET, BTN) is on & will be played as scheduled. We just finished shoot around and are prepping for game.
The Lansing State-Journal has since updated its report as well. According to the LSJ, the "skies in Iowa City have been clear since early morning," and Michigan State was able to drive to Carver-Hawkeye Arena this morning. That's no easy feet in blizzard conditions, as Iowa City's campus has its fair share of hills and slopes. It's not exactly Boulder, Co., but you can imagine the difficulty a large bus would have navigating it through 16 inches of unplowed snow.
In other words, don't expect much of a crowd in Iowa City tonight. If Illinois' Assembly Hall was only about 20 percent filled for last night's Penn State game, it's not hard to imagine Hawks fans staying home in even greater numbers.
