The NFL currently has three winless teams through the first seven weeks of the season. Really, there is no way I see any of those squads winning this weekend.
The Indianapolis Colts are currently 0-7 and will be traveling to face the 3-3 Tennessee Titans on Sunday. While the Titans have not been that great this season, they are plenty good enough to get by a putrid Indianapolis team.
The Titans' biggest fault has been their running game, which ranks dead last in the NFL and is generating just 64.3 yards per game. That's horrendous when you consider that Tennessee handed running back Chris Johnson a six-year, $55.26 million contract in the preseason.
But fear not, Titans fans. The Colts boast the league's 31st-ranked run defense and have allowed 150.9 yards per game. If Johnson doesn't get things going this week, he never will.
There is just no scenario in which I can see the Colts winning this game. I think Johnson will finally get on track this week and the Titans will send the Colts to 0-8.
The St. Louis Rams are currently 0-6 and will welcome the 5-2 New Orleans Saints to town on Sunday. If you're thinking this may be the Rams' week to turn things around, think again.
The Saints are rolling right now and are coming off a 62-7 pasting of the Colts in Week 7.
On Sunday Drew Brees will bring his second-ranked offense (which is averaging 467.1 yards per game) to St. Louis and we should expect the roll to continue. The Saints are also scoring an NFL-best 34.1 points per game.
Meanwhile, the Rams rank 29th in total defense, allowing 410.3 yards per game. What's more, they are 31st in scoring defense and are surrendering 28.5 points per contest.
No matter what St. Louis does offensively, there is no way the team can keep up with the Saints. Drew Brees and company will win in a walkover and send the Rams to 0-7.
The Miami Dolphins suffered an embarrassing loss on Sunday afternoon, blowing a 15-0 lead with three minutes to go and falling to Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos in overtime. That loss will be very difficult for the Dolphins to recover from, especially since they have to travel to MetLife Stadium in Week 8 to face the New York Giants.
While the Giants haven't shown themselves to be an impressive squad yet this season, the Dolphins may be the worst team in the NFL. On top of that, they are sure to be suffering from a big time letdown after the loss to the Broncos. Head coach Tony Sparano is all but already fired and the team has absolutely zero leadership or identity.
The Dolphins will drop to 0-7, and the Giants won't break a sweat putting them there.
