There's no question about it—Chad Ochocinco needs to be playing for the Miami Dolphins in 2012.
CBSSports.com's Jason La Canfora examined the feasibility of the wideout landing in South Beach in a recent column.
A marriage between the two is so perfect, in so many ways, that owner Stephen Ross and GM John Ireland should be setting up a workout for the former Cincinnati Bengals and New England Patriots wide receiver immediately.
First and foremost, the Dolphins need help at their wideout position. Brandon Marshall's gone and the only two receivers who've exhibited legitimate production in the past are Brian Hartline and Davone Bess. Legedu Naanee was acquired in free agency, but all three are better suited in complementary roles.

Sure, there are no longer guarantees when it comes to Ochocinco's on-field contributions, but he's only 34 years old and he's remained in great shape over the years. Signing him to a one-year, incentive-laden contract is sensible.
If nothing else, he could be a semi-threatening deep threat in an offense that desperately needs it—whether David Garrard, Ryan Tannehill or Matt Moore is throwing him passes.
Secondly, the Dolphins need Ochocinco's star power and social media savvy. Ross has made an overt attempt to build the hype around the team after an untimely period of disappointment during which the Miami Heat have taken the city by storm.
That fact that the team accepted the chance to be featured on HBO's Hard Knocks made it clear that Ross is desperate to get his team back in the spotlight.
Ochocinco's an absolute delight in the world of Twitter and has masterfully grown his brand every year he's played in the NFL. He could be labeled as a diva by some, but it's unlikely he'd succumb to the Miami nightlife and make an off-field mistake; he doesn't drink and has never had a run-in with the law.
And he's a Miami native.
Come on, Mr. Ross, make this happen.
We all want to watch Ochocinco's humorous antics on Hard Knocks, you need the added publicity he'll undoubtedly bring, and your quarterbacks need another weapon.
