Retirement talks for Manny Pacquiao were in full swing entering tonight's WBO welterweight fight. Those talks should be dead after tonight's ludicrous loss to Timothy Bradley.
Pac-Man landed more power punches, and overall punches, than Bradley. He also landed hits at a higher percentage. If you name the statistic there's a good chance Pacquiao owned the advantage.
So how could Pacquiao lose this fight?
We will keep our focus away from some of the darker theories. Some point to corruption, conspiracies and everything in between.
Pacquaio cannot go out on this note.
If he had won and retained his WBO belt, Pacquiao could have ridden off without any lingering doubts about his career. Boxing's only eight-division world champion could have ended his career on a very high note.
Instead, Pacquiao has suffered a disappointing and shocking loss at the hands of a lesser fighter. Bradley isn't a bad fighter, but he isn't up to Pac-Man's level at this point in his career.
Retirement is no longer an option. He must demand a rematch from Bradley and turn his focus away from any Floyd Mayweather notions.

As far as I'm concerned, Pacquaio has unfinished business. This business puts a halt on any other plans. Political aspirations, retirement and a blockbuster clash with "Pretty Boy" Floyd should all be put on the back burner.
The only task at hand for Pac-Man should be taking back what's his. His ultra-competitive attitude and nearly-flawless career resume each have a stake in this.
He could decide to walk away, but does he really want to answer Bradley-based, "what-if" questions for the next 10 years?
I doubt it.
Negate any ill will and ask for a rematch. Bradley should give it to him, and this controversy can be put to bed.
