BCS/Top 25 Impact

Arkansas is done in the Top 25 in both the AP and USA Today rankings. The Razorbacks simply haven’t proved worthy after losing to Louisiana-Monroe and getting blanked by Alabama in back-to-back weeks.
Rutgers is making some noise in the polls, as they currently sit in the “others receiving votes” section of both.
Should the Scarlet Knights get an upset victory on the road against an SEC team, the N.J.-based team should find themselves in the Top 25 for the first time since 2009.
Key Player for Rutgers: Jawan Jamison
![]()
This playmaking junior RB must bring his A-game down to Fayetteville.
Through three games in 2012, Jamison has racked up 373 yards and two touchdowns on 69 carries.
He was given an impressive 42 total touches against the South Florida Bulls and made the difference in a critical Big East win for the Scarlet Knights.
While it would be crazy to think that Jamison would touch the ball that much against an SEC opponent, Rutgers may just have to if they can’t get anything else going.
Key Player for Arkansas: Brandon Allen
![]()
If Tyler Wilson cannot play again this week, Allen should once again be the man under center.
After facing arguably the toughest defense in the nation in his last outing, Allen actually might have a chance to make some plays, complete some passes and even throw a touchdown or two against the Scarlet Knights.
This is a more realistic game to expect Allen to manage and succeed in as a backup thrust into the starting role.
Prediction: Rutgers 24, Arkansas 21
The nightmare will continue for the Hogs on Saturday.

No one in Arkansas dreamed that the firing of Bobby Petrino this past offseason would have had this much of a negative impact on the Razorbacks, but the team is simply lost without their former head coach.
If Wilson doesn’t suit up—and there is still a strong chance he is sidelined—it will be a manageable game for the Scarlet Knights and they just need to stay mistake-free to win.
