Jared Sullinger drains blind half-court shot

Being good at basketball has its benefits. For one, you get the chance to play basketball for a living, which is quite possibly the greatest job in the world (other than writing about basketball for a living, of course). Two, if you do get that chance, you're usually paid pretty well. Three, girls tend to like athletes. That's a plus. And four: You get to spend a lot of down time perfecting things that eventually end up on YouTube.

In that spirit, may I present Jared Sullinger's amazing half-court shot, captured Thursday afternoon by ESPN cameramen during Ohio State's shootaround before their matchup with Michigan:

So, let's see. Awesome at basketball? Check. Player of the year candiate? Check. Likely to be a top five NBA draft pick (and therefore very wealthy) in the near future? Check. The product of a locally renowned hoops family with thoroughly awesome nicknames? Check. Grounded, quirky, friendly, interesting, and generally an all-around nice guy? Check.

Able to make behind-the-head half court shots on a whim? With cameras present? Check and check.

It's official: Jared Sullinger is cooler than you. Don't get me wrong, your collection of early 90's baseball cards is sweet and everything, and you have excellent taste in music (you're into the Smith Westerns, right?) but, well, yeah. Sorry. It's true.
