Tim Tebow better than Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady? Yeah, I might as well be insane for saying that—but there's somewhat of a statistical "proof" and reasoning behind that very bold and almost idiotic statement.
At the start of the 2011 NFL season, ESPN released a new rating system for quarterbacks, which is now known as the Total Quarterback Rating. In this rating, the quarterbacks are rated on a scale of zero-to-100 and uses many different variables in determining each passer's Total QBR.
Each week the four-lettered network has been releasing each quarterback's rating, and in this week's addition, Tim Tebow slotted in ahead of Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady—can you believe it?
Tebow earned himself a 83.2, which was good enough for fifth best in the entire league, as he beat out Rodgers who posted a 82.1 and Brady who scored in at 80.1. Tebow also scored a higher rating than Matthew Stafford and Philip Rivers.
To ultimately answer the idiotic question presented as the purpose of this article: no. Tim Tebow is not better than Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers.
However, there is a reason why Tebow scored extremely high in the Total QBR.
Tebow earned this rating during this past Sunday's game for the Denver Broncos in the third quarter and nearly completed an incredible comeback against the San Diego Chargers. Tebow stepped onto the field with the Broncos down by 13 and ended up leading Denver to two touchdowns—he concluded Sunday's unsuccessful comeback going four of 10 for 79 yards and one touchdown while running six times for 38 yards and punching in one score.

Tebow's sample size this season is definitely without a question small—it's minuscule. However, in those snaps that Tebow took as quarterback for the Denver Broncos, he was efficient—more efficient than nearly 85 percent of the quarterbacks during Week 5, including Brady and Rodgers.
As John Fox and the Denver Broncos announced that Tim Tebow would be the team's starting quarterback moving forward, he'll now have plenty of opportunities to not only prove that his Total QBR isn't a fluke, but also prove that he's a legitimate starting quarterback in the NFL.
