The first fifteen minutes of the match between the Los Angeles Galaxy and Club Deportivo Motagua have taken place, and it’s scoreless here in this important CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage match.
Early in the first half of play, some decent buildup in the first three minutes for the Galaxy led to a successful counterattack by the Blue Eagles. In the sixth minute, a free kick was awarded to Motagua, but they were called back for offsides. In the eighth minute, a Motagua corner went a touch too long.
Afterwards the next several minutes were a ball possession battle, with neither side grabbing a decent foothold in terms of possession.
The Galaxy have realized that this is a very heavy pitch, so the play will need to be adjusted, and the pace has to change in order for Los Angeles to establish their share of looks.
