The Week 4 mailbag features all the fantasy football advice you need leading up to the first kickoff on Sunday afternoon.
This next question comes to us from Brett Belden,
0.2 PPR league. Pick two of the following WRs: Reggie Wayne, Nate Washington, Santonio Holmes, Jeremy Maclin, Devery Hendersen, Dexter McCluster (he counts as both RB and WR in my league). Leaning towards Wayne and Washington.
Reggie Wayne went for 100 yards in Week 1 of the season against the Houston Texans, but since then, he has struggled to get anything going. He had just 24 yards receiving last week, and will be locked down by Aqib Talib. Add to the fact that Curtis Painter is making his first ever NFL start, and Wayne is a risky play this week.
Nate Washington was the sexy waiver wire acquisition of the week, but he has a very difficult game on hand for this week. The Tennessee Titans face off against the Cleveland Browns who will lock down Nate Washington all day with CB Joe Haden.
Jeremy Maclin is a must start every week at this point of the season. He was injured and missed some practice this week, but he is facing a San Francisco 49ers secondary that made Jesse Holley look like an all-pro.
Santonio Holmes has been extremely frustrating this year for fantasy owners, and you shouldn't expect that to change this week. He faces a tough Baltimore Ravens secondary, and should be left on the bench until he finds his rhythm.
Devery Henderson will be limited by the return of Marques Colston, and Dexter McCluster has yet to prove himself.
All of this analysis leaves a tough decision. Maclin is the only must play this week, while Wayne actually has the highest upside of the other WRs. He advocated for Painter to be the starter before the season, so there is a good chance the two have solid chemistry. Wayne is a high risk, high reward play that may turn out to provide huge rewards.
