Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena is just a few days away and traditionally the go-home edition of Raw is a good one that makes the public excited for the pay-per-view.
Since coming back, Lesnar has done an excellent job in backstage vignettes and interviews because they are taped and he's able to get things down pat. With that said, Lesnar has never been the best guy on the microphone in a live setting and everyone knew that going into Monday Night Raw.
Everyone except the creative team, that is.
They entrusted Lesnar to do what seemed like 20 minutes of a promo about his demands for John Laurinaitis and the rest of the WWE. Not only did Lesnar fumble his words and continually repeat himself (yes, we know you're no longer a farm boy), but he rambled on and couldn't even create coherent sentences.
I thought CM Punk was the one that was supposed to be acting that way.
Now we've got ourselves a problem and it's one that I don't see a solution to. Lesnar can't seem to get more than a few lines out with a live microphone in his hands. It wasn't a problem before because he had a mouthpiece to do that part of the work for him.
The answer is definitely not to bring Paul Heyman back and absolutely not to give Lesnar a manager.
I really enjoy the idea that his character is completely an outsider and doesn't want to side with anyone. I envision him as someone who wants to fight anyone and everyone regardless of their affiliations. He doesn't have be the talker and I still can't believe they put him in that position.
The promo that Lesnar was a part of tonight was one of the longest and had the worst crowd reaction for any go-home show I can remember. Is it all Lesnar's fault? No, of course not. The powers that be put him in a situation that isn't his forte and what happened is something they should have expected.
Would they ask Big Show to try a moonsault?
At this point, the match will happen and regardless of the outcome we can only hope and pray they don't do that to him (or us) again.
I would like to see that moonsault attempt, though.
