3-point shot: Cardinal grieve for Peter Sauer

1. Stanford is grieving over the tragic death of former wing Peter Sauer, who died at the age of 35 after collapsing in a pickup game Sunday night, falling and hitting his head. Sauer leaves his wife and three children. All of the sport should pause and reflect on someone who was the ultimate student-athlete in the NCAA’s purest form. Sauer was an extension of then coach Mike Montgomery. He was the consummate, hard-working Cardinal, who paired terrifically with Mark Madsen, Kris Weems, Arthur Lee & Co.
