The USC Trojans football program has a very optimistic year ahead of them, but their future is not looking to shabby either, especially with news that 4-star linebacker Michael Hutchings has committed.
USC is setting themselves up for what looks to be another dynasty run—no surprises there—and now with Hutchings on board, their 2013 class is starting to shape up very nicely.

The Trojans have 11 commits as of right now, three of which are 5-star players according to Rivals.
While Hitchings is "just" a 4-star player, there's no reason to expect anything but solid football out of him for the Trojans.
At 6'2'', 210 pounds the Trojans would be getting a very versatile linebacker that could excel at either the Will (strong side) or Sam (weak side) position. He also played safety as a sophomore in high school according to USCFootball.com, so it's safe to assume that his knowledge of coverage schemes is high.
When you watch his film there's a distinct feeling that he's very comfortable playing in the defensive backfield, but at any instant he has the mobility, control, power and speed to plant his foot, shoot up towards the line of scrimmage and get to the ball-carrier.

He's athletic enough to play in space and chase sideline to sideline, but he's powerful and strong enough to deliver a solid hit on the ball-carrier. It's hard not to like the potential Hutchings has, and he'll be a key piece of the success they have in the future.
He'll be joining No. 2 ranked defensive end Kenny Bigelow, and two top-ranked players at their position in safety Su'a Cravens and quarterback Max Browne.
With Hutchings now in the mix, Lane Kiffin and company are building an incredibly solid 2013 class that should have no problem stepping into the USC spotlight once it's their time to shine.
