On Thursday, Barcelona's Dutch winger Ibrahim Afellay trained with the team for the first time since injuring his knee in late September.
His Barcelona teammates greeted Afellay's appearance with applause. He then worked with a physio to complete a training circuit that included running and change of pace exercises.
Afellay has been sidelined for almost six months after undergoing surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The Holland international tore his ligament during a training session just after returning from a previous hamstring problem. The two injuries have combined to limit him to just two appearances for the Blaugrana this season.
Since moving to Barcelona from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven in January 2011, Afellay has managed just 17 appearances in La Liga. He came on as a substitute in Barcelona's Champions League final victory over Manchester United.
Internationally, Afellay has earned 36 caps for Holland and was a member of the 2010 World Cup squad that reached the finals.
There is still no official timetable for his return to first-team action.
