Lenny Dykstra: Former MLB Star Pleads No Contest to Multiple Charges

Former Major League Baseball All-Star Lenny Dykstra has pleaded no contest to multiple charges stemming from ads he placed on Craigslist.

According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities said on Wednesday that Dykstra has pleaded no contest to charges of lewd conduct and assault with a deadly weapon, both misdemeanors. He has been sentenced to 36 months of probation and three months in L.A. County Jail.

Per the Times, Dykstra posted housekeeping ads on Craigslist and allegedly told women that the requirements of one of the jobs was to give him a massage, during which he would expose himself. In one incident in July of 2010, authorities allege that he held a knife to the throat of one woman and ordered her to massage him.

There are five victims in the case. Dykstra has been ordered to stay away from all of them.

In early March, Dykstra was sentenced to three years in California state prison after pleading no contest to grand theft auto and other charges (via ESPN). He initially pleaded not guilty to 25 charges after police raided his home and found ecstasy and other drugs in April of 2011, before ultimately changing his plea to no contest in October.

The grand theft auto charges stemmed from a scam in which Dykstra leased high-end cars from dealerships by providing fraudulent information.

Dykstra is also scheduled to stand trial this summer for federal bankruptcy charges.

He was a three-time All-Star during his major league career, which lasted from 1985 to 1996. He famously helped the New York Mets win the World Series in 1986.
