Every year the NFL draft is filled with more players who will fail in the league rather than succeed. A portion of the players fail simply because of the team that selects them. The 2012 NFL draft isn’t an exemption to this rule.
There are a variety of reasons some players will fail thanks to the team that drafted them. Some teams are just a bad fit for the player while others are simply blocked from earning playing time because of the talent ahead of them on the depth chart.
The biggest reason tends to be that players are drafted into situations with little talent around them. The NFL is a team sport and one rookie isn’t going to change everything for a franchise. A rookie needs solid pieces around him to succeed.
Now is as good of a time as any to reflect upon how the player fits with the team, so each fit will be graded accordingly.
Here are seven players who will fail because of the team that picked them in the 2012 NFL draft:
Reegie Corona Juan Miranda Colin Curtis Kevin Russo Curtis Granderson Nick Johnson
