With the Chicago Bears within striking distance of the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, Packers defensive tackle B.J. Raji picked off Bears third-stringer Caleb Hanie and marched 18 yards for a touchdown.
After the second-year pro recorded his first interception and first touchdown in the NFL with six minutes left in the game, Raji didn't hesitate to go all out, doing a little jig in the end zone reminiscent of a hula dancer.
Except this hula dancer was 6-foot-2, 337 pounds.
At the time of Raji's runback, the Bears were only trailing, 14-7.
But his touchdown put the Packers ahead, 21-7, a game they would eventually win, 21-14.
Raji had 39 tackles, 6.5 sacks and three pass deflections this year, but his biggest play came in the NFC Championship Game and helped the Packers continue to the Super Bowl.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers needed all the help he could get, looking frustrated against the Bears, completing only 56 percent of his throws and tossing two interceptions.
I would like to be nice and say his TD dance out-trumped his interception and runback, but then I would be lying.
Nonetheless, the big man deserved to do a little jig after helping secure a Super Bowl berth for the Packers against the winner of the AFC Championship Game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Jets.
The former Boston College star was selected ninth overall by the Packers in the 2009 NFL Draft.
He had but one sack last season, so he appears to be growing exponentially as a top draft pick for the Packers.
