Bob Arum Is Wrong For Switching Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley Fight To Showtime

Boy, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum sure knows how to screw things up.  I came to that conclusion after his decision to move the Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley fight to Showtime from HBO.

I don't have Showtime and don't care to get it just to watch their fight.  I can tell that this match will be a cakewalk for Pacquiao.

The animosity that Arum has towards Golden Boy is the reason he made the switch.  He thinks that HBO is loyal to Golden Boy.

It seems that Arum must do whatever he can to keep things confusing.  I want to know if he cleared this announcement with Pacquiao and Mosley.

If the pound-for-pound champ is okay with the switch, then it is a go.  My preference is that the fight should remain on HBO.

So there will be no 24/7 to watch on HBO.  Having a 24/7 series on Showtime would not feel right. A fight of that magnitude should be on HBO.

I think Arum should forget about any bad blood between himself and Oscar De La Hoya, Golden Boy's CEO, and unite on the business end for the sake of boxing.  This is about the commercial value of the two fighters and what network is better suited to sell the Pacquiao-Mosley fight in May.

I want to see the fight on HBO instead of Showtime.  But I guess my wish will not come true.

Too bad we won't hear Jim Lampley, Max Kellerman, Larry Merchant or Hal Ledderman.  If that's how Arum wants it, then we can either watch the fight or not.

In any event, I might change my mind and watch the next fight that Pacquiao is in on Showtime, but it has to a quality opponent or I won't watch it.
