Carl Pavano and the Minnesota Twins have officially agreed on a two-year deal. Pavano will earn $8 million in the first year, and $8.5 million in the second, according to FanHouse's Steve Phillips. Pavano could earn $9 million in year two if he hits all of his incentives. The deal also includes a limited no-trade clause and a guarantee that the club won't offer arbitration at the end of the contract, according to Phillips.
Pavano, 35, has helped lead the Twins to two consecutive AL Central championships. He was traded to Minnesota from Cleveland during 2009, going 5-4 with a 4.64 ERA after the deal. In 2010, Pavano racked up 17 wins against 11 losses, compiling a 3.75 ERA in 32 starts.
He also had a career-high seven complete games and two shutouts -- which matched his previous career high.
