NHL Announces All Star Talent Pool, Releases More Game Info

With fan voting for the 2011 NHL All Star voting ending last week, the league has added 36 players to the original fan selected six, as well as 12 rookies, to participate in the All Star game in Raleigh, NC, at the end of the month.� The original six players (Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith, Kris Letang, and Marc Andre Fleury) will be added to the 36 players to create the talent pool for the inaugural All Star Fantasy Draft.� All teams will be represented by a player at the festivities in one form or another.� The NHL also announced more details about the game regarding captains, jerseys, and the other events of the weekend.� The complete list of players invited by team, and the latest news regarding NHL All Star weekend, is available after the jump.

This year’s roster of All Star invitees are a relatively new bunch, not only to the league, but to the All Star game itself.� Of the 42 players invited, 21 have never been an All Star before this season.� Only four teams will not be represented with a player in the actual All Star game.� While there may be some omissions by the NHL to this group of players, the league did a good job mixing in established veteran stars with hot, up and coming players.� Below are all the players invited to All Star weekend by team.� First [More …]
