Now that Rich Rodriguez is officially out as the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines, the question must be asked: what's next for him? After all, his reputation as an offensive mastermind is still more or less intact, and he's already in the running for several head coaching positions.
One of the bigger name schools where Rodriguez could land is Pitt. After all, the Panthers are rife with young talent, and could use a big-name coach to help keep them relevant on the college football landscape.
We know Rodriguez can win in the Big East, given his success at West Virginia. And after the less-than-amicable parting with the Mountaineers, something tells me RichRod would like nothing more than to stick it to his alma mater in one of the fiercest rivalries in college football every year.
In short, Rodriguez could be a great fit for the Panthers.
