2011 FIFA U-17 World Cup Final Will Feature Uruguay and Mexico
Mexico, the host country, stunned Germany with a bicycle kick in the 90th minute, while Uruguay knocked off the young Brazilian squad by a score of 3-0.
The loss for Brazil was the first time they had ever lost in this event to another South American country. Uruguay went ahead in just the 20th minute on a penalty kick and never looked back, adding goals in the 72nd minute, and another in injury time.
Uruguay defeated Canada, Uzbekistan, and Congo as well en route to World Cup Final.
Uruguay was seemingly outplayed by Brazil for much of the match, but Brazil failed to put the ball in the back of the net. Brazil outshot Uruguay 27-10 but were able to put five of those 27 shots on target, while Uruguay put five of 10 on target.
Not many people expected Uruguay to surprise Brazil but they did it and the score was quite convincing.
Uruguay was a terrific counter-attacking team and will need to do the same thing against the Mexicans if they want to come away with the World Cup victory against the host country.
