Klitschko vs. Haye: Does Prolific Match Mean Boxing Is Back?

The high profile boxing match between Wladimir Klitschko and David Haye is well under way right now and it is living up to the hype.

Klitschko is the BF, IBO and WBO Heavyweight Champion and is fighting against WBA World Heavyweight champ David Haye.

Klitschko is a knockout machine with 49 career KO?s and has a 55-3 overall record. Haye on the other hand has a 25-1 record and 23 career KO?s.

Both boxers feature heavy swings that have been known to easily knock out opponents, and that is why there has been so much talk and hype surrounding the match.

These two are going at each other with pounding hits and to be honest I don?t think there is anybody who isn?t expecting a knock out to end the fight.

The only question is who will be the one on the ground at the end of the match? Right now it?s looking like a toss up.

The other thing I wonder is whether or not this fight means boxing is back.

Obviously the sport of boxing has come a long way since its golden days and it has definitely taken a hit within the American sporting arena.

But, with both the NFL and NBA currently locked out will more attention start going to the ?second tier? sports?

Personally I think the lockouts in the major sports will really divert the fans attention to sports like boxing. Fans cannot help but want to watch athletics; they thrive off competition.

Will boxing be able to recapture its former glory and once again become a major factor in the American sports scene?

That is yet to be answered, but an epic fight here will go a long way for the sport.
