Providence recruit lights up summer league

Providence signee Kiwi Gardner scored so many points at a summer league game in San Francisco last week that it was a bit difficult counting them up. The San Francisco Chronicle reported it was 52. Yay Area's Finest counted 51.

It all just adds to Gardner's growing legend, as the 5-foot-7 point guard is simply breathtaking to watch at times. He has the name, the hair, and the stylish game to match.

New Providence coach Ed Cooley has found himself quite the showman, as evidenced by video of the San Francisco Bay Area Pro-Am game from Yay Area's Finest:

It remains to be seen how Gardner's game translates to the Big East, but he appears confident enough to be able to do it. He became notable for playing alongside the star-studded Oakland Soldiers AAU team, setting up his teammates for the highlight reels. Now after signing with Providence, the Manteca, Calif. native has made San Francisco his personal playground for the summer.

Think he's too small for the Big East at 5-foot-7? Here's his response.
