As noted by Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports, Orson Charles has been named as a recruit who received benefits from the renegade Miami football booster. Could Orson Charles really be battling an eligibility issue now?
As of this moment I do not see anything that would keep Orson Charles from being eligible. Orson is mentioned as having been brought to meet Nevin Shapiro by current Alabama staff member Joe Pannunzio. However, Shapiro has declined to speak of his relationship with Pannunzio.
Being that Orson Charles chose to play for Mark Richt at the University of Georgia, I do not believe Shapiro's tactics worked on him.
It is most likely that nothing will come of this because Orson did nothing out of line in going on a recruiting trip. Unless he actually took benefits, he has nothing to worry about at all.
Football season is not very far away, and the Bulldogs play Boise State on September 3rd.
