This weekend in the NFL will provide plenty of exciting games between evenly matched teams.
In addition to some big-time divisional matchups like Pittsburgh vs. Cincinnati, Detroit vs. Chicago and New England vs. New York, there will also be a couple of other interesting games between good teams.
So, which teams need to watch out for upsets this weekend?
Let’s take a look at three teams that will pull off big upsets this weekend.
Carolina Panthers (vs. Tennessee Titans)
Cam Newton is a good quarterback. He’s putting up some pretty outstanding numbers during his rookie campaign.
It’s only a matter of time until the Panthers start beating some good teams with Newton taking snaps.
In fact, it’s only going to be a matter of a few days until they start beating good teams. They are going to beat the Titans on Sunday.
Tennessee’s offense, with Chris Johnson struggling, won’t be able to keep up with the points the Panthers are going to score.
The Panthers will score enough to pull off this upset in Carolina.
Cincinnati Bengals (vs. Pittsburgh Steelers)
Speaking of good young quarterbacks, how about Andy Dalton of the Bengals?
No one expected the Bengals to be in the playoff picture this year, but here they are.
They’ve done it largely behind the strength of their defense, which has outperformed every expectation thus far.
They’ll be able to slow down Ben Roethlisberger and his stud receiving corps. Then, it’ll be up to Dalton and the offense to put a few points on the board against Pittsburgh’s aging defense.
This week, Dalton will lead the Bengals to their biggest win of the season.
Chicago Bears (vs. Detroit Lions)
The Bears are on a roll lately. The biggest factor in their recent resurgence has been improved offensive line play.
When they can keep Jay Cutler clean in the pocket, he’s a pretty good quarterback.
They’ll have their hands full with the Detroit defensive line this weekend, but with a balanced game plan featuring a steady diet of Matt Forte, they can keep the Lions defense guessing.
If they keep playing at the level they’ve played the last couple weeks, they’ll make the playoffs for sure.
