NBA Rumors: Why Chris Kaman Must Push for a Trade to the Miami Heat

Chris Kaman has been one of the better big men in the NBA during his eight years in the league, but there has been one problem: He has never come close to playing for a contender.

After being drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers with the sixth pick of the 2003 draft, Kaman has only been to the playoffs one time in his career, when the Clippers finished the 2005-06 season with a 47-35 record.

Every other season has been more of the same: Losing.

If he wants to play for a winner, and he wants a legitimate shot at earning a championship ring, then he must do everything in his power to get a deal done now between the New Orleans Hornets and the Miami Heat.

If a deal is reached between the two sides, making Kaman a member of the Miami Heat, he could arguably become the final piece to the Heats' championship puzzle.

The only team standing in Miami's way of reaching the NBA finals for the second straight year is the Chicago Bulls. But, if Miami can get a true center, one player that they have desperately needed, there is no reason to think they cannot overtake Chicago once again in the Eastern Conference finals.

Kaman has seen a considerably productive career fall by the wayside due to playing for pathetic franchises.

If I were him, I would want to see what winning more often than not actually tastes like, and I surely would want to have at least one shot at winning a championship before I retired.
