UFC News: Brock Lesnar Talks About His New Book, Illness and Future in UFC

Since his withdrawal from UFC 131, Brock Lesnar recently made an appearance on Canadian radio program, "The Fight Show" with Mauro Ranallo. Lesnar was scheduled on the show to promote his new book "Death Clutch," an autobiography based on his life and career.

While discussing his book, Lesnar described the process as a tough one to endure, but ultimately the 265-lb. wrestler is proud of his accomplishment.

"It was a long and tedious process, but the end result, the book turned out very well and I am very happy with it," Lesnar told Ranallo

To ease some of the struggle off of him, Lesnar added he was thankful for people like close friend, Paul Heyman and his wife Rena Mero, to support him and help complete the project.

The promotion of his new book couldn't come at a better time for Lesnar, as the former UFC heavyweight champion was forced to withdraw from his bout with Junior dos Santos at UFC 131, after learning he was diagnosed with diverticulitis for a second time, leaving him out of action and earning no income.

Although it is not as severe as his first encounter with the illness, Lesnar said contracting it for a second time has taken a toll on him and has left him feeling disappointed.

"This is not only mentally nut this has been very physically strenuous on me, since my first bout with diverticulitis in 2009," he said.

"Having to back away from a fight is not something that I don't think anybody likes to do."

Having said that, Lesnar made it clear that his career in the UFC is not over and he plans to get back inside the Octagon as soon as possible.

In the meantime, Lesnar will continue to sell and promote his book and encourages all sports fans to read a copy of his autobiography. He said whether you like him or not, the book itself, is interesting.

"I wrote it purely because it was time to write, it was time for me to say something," he said regarding his book.

"This a time in my life where it just felt comfortable and natural, for the fan or the general public, that might have some interest in my career."

Brock Lesnar's autobiography, "Death Clutch: My Story of Determination, Domination and Survival" is available in stores and on Amazon.com.
