The Giants and Redskins were tied up at 14-14, and New York had the football looking to establish momentum. Eli Manning dropped back to pass, and his loss was LB Ryan Kerrigan's gain:
Manning threw an awful pass into coverage. Kerrigan tipped it to himself, caught the ball and ran it in for the go-ahead touchdown.
Redskins fans and players alike were elated, as their first-round draft pick already came up with a big play to put Washington ahead in an important divisional match-up.
The Giants have been struggling to move the ball consistently all game and have been relying on the big play -- certainly not a recipe for victory, as the Atlanta Falcons learned earlier. The Giants have out-gained the Redskins by 18 yards (283 to 265), but the costly Manning turnover is currently the difference in this game.
Eli Manning has been inconsistent thus far, completing only 12 of 22 passes for 217 yards (one interception). His counterpart, Rex Grossman, has completed 15 of 25 passes for 223 yards (one touchdown).
Keep it here as the Giants look to re-gain their composure, as they currently trail on the road, 21-14.
