4 Down Territory: Links to the Absolute Best in AFC East Coverage, February 9

New England Patriots

To finally put the Super Bowl XLVI loss firmly in the rearview mirror, Greg A. Bedard of the Boston Globe writes that both Tom Brady and Wes Welker bear equal responsibility for the play that will live in Boston sports infamy.

Looking ahead, Bleacher Report NFL featured columnist Tony Santorsa gives us the top five issues the Patriots face in 2012. Chief among them are, of course, Welker's contract, deep threats and pass rushers. From this perspective, if Andre Carter and Mark Anderson both come back, the Patriots should be okay on pass rushers. The two combined for 20 sacks (half the team total) in 2011. The Patriots could definitely used a dynamic playmaker and game-changer in the offense on the outsides, though.

And of course, it's time to brush up on some of that draft knowledge. It can be like reading Greek at first, but WEEI.com's DJ Bean gives us 10 early prospects to get familiar with as potential fits for the team.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills have a big decision to make on the future of quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, but there are some alternatives. In his first article on Bleacher Report, James Christenson of NEPatriotsDraft.com, a renowned source of draft news, looks into the Bills possibly trading up to draft Baylor QB Robert Griffin III or pursuing Colts QB Peyton Manning in free agency.

The eternal debate rages on over whether Andre Reed was a Hall of Fame-worthy receiver, now having been snubbed an unprecedented five straight years in the final round. He should be used to the feeling of getting to the finals and missing out, though, but Rant Sports' Jeff Sattora makes a brief case for Reed as a Hall of Fame receiver.

New York Jets

There is a delicate balance of trading up and down in the draft, as the Jets have learned the hard way by minimizing their picks over the years. B/R Jets featured columnist Patrick Cook gives us three trade-up and trade-down scenarios the Jets could explore. From this perspective, trading up could only hurt the Jets; they have had just 13 draft picks in the past three years combined, fewer than any other team.

Pump the breaks on the Peyton Manning-to-Miami talk, Dolphins fans—B/R featured columnist Gary Davenport has three reasons why another Manning could be taking snaps at MetLife Stadium very soon.

Miami Dolphins

A career as successful as the one running back Ricky Williams enjoyed is worth a reflection, and B/R Dolphins featured columnist Thomas Galicia gives us a nice look back on the highlights of his career

Of course, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning remains the hot topic in South Beach. According to Brian Biggane of the Palm Beach Post, Colts columnist Bob Kravitz said on Tony Kornheiser's nationally syndicated radio show that the Manning "[is] not throwing like an NFL quarterback yet." The Dolphins, and their fans, will surely keep a close eye on Manning's recovery now that it's become clear the Colts quarterback will not return to Indy in 2012.
