2011 NBA Mock Draft Has Chad Ford Thinking Tristan Thompson Goes to Bucks
Texas Longhorns forward Tristan Thompson projects as a small forward in the NBA based on his size, at 6-foot-8, 225 pounds. But he actually could legitimately fill in at power forward if needed given he's a very aggressive player that loves to pound the glass and swat shots.
He can score in multiple ways, he has a never-ending motor and his length and athleticism projects him as having the dynamics to compete at the NBA level early and potentially often.
Chad Ford's Pick: Tristan Thompson, F, Texas
(The Bucks) really could use help at the 2, 3 and 4 positions. I have Thompson here because, of the players on the board, he's the most likely to be a Scott Skiles-type player. He's tough, aggressive and just a beast on the offensive boards. His skill level isn't particularly high on the offensive end yet, but he's a good fit alongside Bogut on the front line.

Good Fit or Bad Fit?
Good fit. Like Ford says, Thompson would be a good complement to center Andrew Bogut, and the combination of both of them pounding the glass could prove a handful for NBA teams. But Thompson's not the only good fit.
My Pick: Alec Burks, G, Colorado
Alec Burks is one of a select few prospects in this year's draft class that projects as a legitimate shooting guard in the NBA, based on size. At 6-foot-6, there aren't the concerns associated with other top guards about playing in the NBA undersized. Beyond that, he greatly increased his stock at the end of last season, showing the type of athleticism and finishing ability comparable to Kemba Walker. The only problem is, he needs to develop his midrange game. He may be more of a project than Thompson, but his determination reminds me a lot of Walker, and I think he could become the Bucks' next shooting guard of the future.
