Coming into Week 12, the Minnesota Vikings and quarterback Brett Favre are staring at a record of 3-7.
The team that was on the verge of making it to the Super Bowl last season is now spiraling out of control.
Head coach Brad Childress was fired earlier today, and the team promoted defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier to become the interim head coach.
The next logical question should be, in light of everything that has transpired this year, what more evidence does Brett Favre need to realize that it is time to hang up the spikes and walk away?
It has been a terrible year for Favre, not just because the huge drop-off in personal production but from a public relations standpoint as well. He basically was a major reason that Childress is now out of a job. Then you consider the Randy Moss fiasco, the Jenn Sterger situation and the Vikings' record, and you realize this is a year Favre would like to forget.
It is hard to know when to walk away sometimes, but even when the sky is falling down all around you, it is still tough for some people to take a hint.
