Rose leads Bulls 23-pt comeback vs. Suns

A night after losing to the Lakers, the Bulls started out flat against the Suns and trailed by 19 after the first quarter. Phoenix stretched the lead to as many as 23 in the second quarter, but the Bulls came all the way back to force overtime and then win it in double overtime.

Derrick Rose led the way with 35 points, a career-high 12 rebounds and seven assists before fouling out.

FROM THE ELIAS SPORTS BUREAU: Rose is the fifth player in Bulls history to foul out of a game after scoring at least 35 points. The others are Michael Jordan (six times), Reggie Theus, Orlando Woolridge and Scottie Pippen (once each). There have been 123 games in the all-time series between the Suns and Bulls (62 wins for Phoenix, 61 wins for Chicago) but Wednesday's game was the first of them that required double overtime.

Rose has topped 30 points in four of the five games so far during the Bulls "circus" road trip, during which the Bulls have gone 3-2.

As for the Suns, they fall to 1-4 against Eastern Conference teams. The 23-point blown lead for Phoenix is their largest since blowing a 24-point lead to the Pacers on January 13 last season.
