Australian Rules Football Team Dealing with Teenage Girl Sex Scandal, Cyberterrorist

Once again we’re learning that maybe this social media thing is more powerful/dangerous than we thought. And we truly do live in “The Matrix” now where everything we do all the time is recorded and scrutinized.

Captain Nic Reiwoldt and several other players from Australian Rules team St. Kilda have been left fuming after a 17-year-old girl posted explicit photos of them online. The girl, who claims she was made pregnant by an unnamed Saints player, said she was posting the photos as an act of revenge on the club. She also claims to have 19 more such photos of other AFL players.

According to today’s Sydney Morning Herald:

“she vowed to post on social networking sites by 5pm yesterday, a deadline that was pushed back until 7am today. Some of the photos allegedly show players taking drugs.

But the angry teenager turned to another form of social media late last night to reveal that she had been spooked by a Federal Court order, which earlier this week restrained her and Facebook from publishing photographs of naked St Kilda players.”

Is it out of line for me to label her a “cyber-terrorist?” Well, that’s what terrorists do, make demands, and if those demands aren’t met, they inflict “terror.”
