Brett Favre: Is Favre Headed To Injured Reserve List?

Brett Favre was knocked out of the Vikings' Monday Night football game with a concussion.

Now there are questions as to whether or not Favre is even going to return to finish out the season.  Could last night's hit be the end of his career?

?I don?t think so at this stage," Vikings interim coach Leslie Frazier told the Minnesota Star Tribune Tuesday when asked if he might place Favre on IR and thus end his season and likely his career. "He?s proven time and time again that he?s capable of coming back and playing again so I don?t think so.?

When prompted to address the lack of pass protection around Favre, Frazier said: ?You have to be aware of that potential risk and we have to weigh those. But on that one hit that he did have [there] really wasn?t a chance for him to avoid [it]. The [player] was on him so fast, he just had no way of protecting himself when he hit the ground. That?s always a possibility, but that?s a risk even if he had not had any previous injuries. Just the way that occurred.?

Frazier still has faith in his 41-year-old quarterback and won't rule him out of next week's game.

"When you look at the history it?s rare it seems today that guys are able to come back on a short week," after suffering a concussion, Frazier told the Star Tribune. "So, you wouldn?t think that would be possible. But there have been other things you didn?t think were possible with Brett."
