As the Rangers enter Pittsburgh to take on the Penguins, captain Chris Drury will return to the lineup after missing 29 games with a broken index finger.
Along with Vinny Prospal, Drury is a big-name player that has missed most of the season. In their absence, the Rangers have started the season 18-13-1 and sit in sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
This leads to the question of how big an impact Drury's return will have on the Rangers. Head coach John Tortorella has stated that the Rangers won't scratch any of their "kids" to make room for the Rangers' captain, and it appears that Todd White will be the odd man out for tonight's game against the Penguins.
This means that Drury will start the game as a winger on the fourth line with Sean Avery and Erik Christensen.
On the fourth line, Drury likely won't do very much. Even though Tortorella says that he would like to use Drury in every role possible tonight, players on the fourth line under Tortorella only see about eight to 10 minutes of ice time.
If his ice time is limited to 10 minutes, then his impact will have to be what the Rangers rely on him for the most: His leadership.
