Heath Miller is expected to play according to a report on ESPN's website. Miller was knocked out of a December 5th game in Baltimore with a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jameel McClain.
Miller was expected to play against the Jets this past Sunday after being medically cleared to return. However, mid-week, he suffered from post-concussion headaches and was placed on the inactive list. The Steelers missed Heath Miller during the Jets game. His replacement, Matt Spaeth, caught a touchdown, but also dropped several passes including a potential game-winning touchdown.
The match-up against Carolina is a game the Steelers should win with or without Miller. However, his presence in the game definitely won't hurt the Steelers chances.
Since the Steelers want to win their final two games in order to ensure their spot as AFC North Champions and very likely a first round bye in the playoffs, they will want all of their best players in the game. Polamalu has already been ruled out, but may possibly return against Cleveland next week if they need him to help lock up the division. Therefore, they will want Miller to start against Carolina, provided he stays symptom free.
