The Oklahoma City Thunder added scoring depth in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft by selecting Boston College shooting guard Reggie Jackson with the 24th pick.
Jackson is a fabulous scorer with a solid outside shot, and can take the ball to the basket.
He is not a great defender, and doesn?t have good length or size for a shooting guard.
Jackson did not work out for any teams, a puzzling and unusual decision, but the Thunder saw something they liked in him.
Playing alongside Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, Jackson will get his opportunities to score, and his three point shooting will stretch the floor for Durant and Westbrook to penetrate defenses.
Oklahoma City should have drafted a big man to bolster their frontline, but maybe they will trade one of their young guards in the summer with all the depth they have in the backcourt.
Grade: C+
