2011 NBA Mock Draft: Last-Minute Expert NBA Draft Projections

2011 NBA Mock Draft Gives Last Second Looks At a Wild Night of Moves

Tonight, the futures of dozens of prospects will be molded as the NBA Draft gets underway.

There has been a lot of speculation about who is going where and what deals may happen once the names start coming off of the board, and to help you get a better grasp of tonight's proceedings, I'll be making some predictions about things to watch for once David Stern takes the podium.

Houston Trades Up

The Rockets want a big man, and if they want to get one of the top frontcourt players in the draft, they have to trade up to do so.

Houston has been linked to talks with the Detroit Pistons about the eighth pick in the draft, and if the Pistons are smart, they'll pull the trigger on the deal and take the Rockets two first round selections for their pick.

Out of all of the deals that have been bandied about in the build up to the draft, this one has the best chance of happening.

Bismack Biyombo Is Taken Too Early

I really don't get all of the Biyombo hype heading into the draft.

This is a guy who couldn't get consistent minutes with his team overseas, he doesn't have much of an offensive game to speak of, and now, all of a sudden, he's heading to the green room on draft night.

I know this is a bad draft, but teams can do better than Biyombo, who is fooling teams with his workouts, when tape will show you that he has serious flaws in his game.

Throw in some new concerns about his knees and his back, and you have enough red flags that I'm passing if I'm a team that is near the top of the draft order. I wouldn't take him until the middle of the first round, but I have a feeling a team is going to gamble early on.
