Klay Thomson is the Last Piece to an Elite Backcourt
The Warriors have serious holes in their frontcourt. Aside from David lee, everyone in their frontcourt is forgettable.
The team has a 1-2 punch between Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry. Both guards are undersized, but it seems both are on their way towards an all-star career.
That's why it came as a surprise when the Warriors took Klay Thompson with the 11th pick in the draft. He is a tweener who can play the two or the three, and if Ellis remains on the Warriors, Thompson will be slated to become the starting 3.
He's 6'7", and he's a gifted shooter. Though they had more pressing needs, the addition of Thompson could give them the most complete backcourt in the league.
It seemed as though the team may be getting away from small ball, but this pick and their selection of a point guard in the second round says otherwise.
They have a talented backcourt, but it seems hard to believe that unless they bring in a big man, they will be able to make good on Jackson's promise that the Warriors will make the playoffs.
