2011 NBA Mock Draft: Which Player Can Immediately Help the Miami Heat?

The Miami Heat are in need of a center in the upcoming draft.  The team found little production in the middle this season, so if they plan on making it back to the NBA Finals they?ll need to sure up some holes.

Purdue?s JaJuan Johnson would be an excellent fit the Heat for a couple of reasons.  First, he?s athletic and extremely durable.  Johnson played a staggering 35.4 MPG in college last year.  He?s also got progressively better as the season came to a close, especially in the rebounding department.

The second reason why he fits in with the Heat is because Johnson has the unique ability to play outside and behind the arc.  He?s nothing special from downtown, but if he plays outside at times he?ll draw out defenders, and then LeBron James and Dwyane Wade can penetrate against their opponents with the center drawn out.  From there, if Johnson is left open he can knock down an open three, so it?s win-win for Miami however you look at it.

The Heat own the first pick in Round 2, so Johnson could be there for the taking.  If he is, he?ll be a fine complementary player for a very good team.
