With UFC 131: Dos Santos vs. Carwin set only two weeks prior to a somewhat disappointing UFC 130 main event, many are asking the same question; will UFC 131 be any different?
In short, the answer is a definite yes.
Just about every fighter on both the main cards and undercard matchups is known to bring the noise and especially Dos Santos and Carwin.
These two heavyweights throw some serious leather and both have great ground games; Carwin?s comes from a wrestling pedigree and Dos Santos is a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu brown belt.
Both fighters have also said they will look to keep the fight standing. However, that could quickly change should one of them eat a big shot or if the fight happens to not be going either of their ways.
This winner of this fight gets a shot at American kickboxing Academy disciple, Cain Velasquez and both Carwin and Dos Santos will be looking for the finish.
In a UFC media conference call earlier this week, Dos Santos and Carwin gave their thoughts on how this fight could play out and what will make the difference s it relates to winning this important bout.
?Junior is one of the top guys in the world. I have a ton of respect for him and the opponents that he?s fought. But, in the same sense, the focus is on me becoming a better fighter,? said Carwin, in response to a question regarding his training camp for the upcoming bout.
