Will Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks Win the 2011 NBA Championship?
After sweep the LA Lakers it appeared that the Dallas Mavericks where the team to beat this post season. They took on the Oklahoma City Thunder with ease and after a few intense games the made their way to the 2011 NBA Finals.
Once we knew that the Mavericks were going to take on the Miami Heat most people gave the edge to the Heat because of their super stars. However, some people believed the Mavericks could win it, and others just could not root for LeBron James and the Heat so they chose Dallas.
Now that we're three games into the finals it's becoming more clear that the Miami Heat are the better team. That's not to say that the Mavericks aren't good, because they certainly are. It's just that Dallas hasn't been playing to it's full potential.
The Mavericks are in a one game hole that isn't too difficult to climb out of, but it won't be a walk in the park. Dirk Nowitzki needs a victory tonight or he can kiss his chances of winning a title this year good-bye. If that's the case, will he also be waving good-bye to his chances of ever winning a title?

Dirk Nowitzki is playing extremely well in the playoffs. He has carried the Mavericks this far, but right now he needs his team more than ever. The Heat's defense has stepped their game up, which means the Mavericks need to counter with high flying and high scoring play.
If they're unable to knock their shots down then their chances of ever winning a championship will be flushed down the drain.
This is it for Dirk and the Mavericks. Another long season for these aging Dallas players won't do them any good. They can still compete, but other younger teams are on the rise.
Dirk needs to make the most of his time in the finals this year because they won't be retuning next year. Tonight is a must win for the Mavericks, and Dirk cannot do it alone. Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, and Shawn Marion will be called upon to help even the series.
Will they let their star down? Or can they make the 2011 NBA Finals that much more interesting?
