2011 NBA Mock Draft: Will Alec Burks Be a Top 5 Selection in the Draft?

The deadline for NCAA underclassmen to declare for the 2011 NBA draft is only two days away, meaning the dominoes are falling into place for what promises to be an interesting summer.

With the NBA dealing with a tenuous labor situation, highly-touted prospects Harrison Barnes, Perry Jones and Jared Sullinger opted to return to school.

Had this talented threesome opted to test the NBA waters, the draft lottery would have a vastly different look.

And a much, much better look.

Without three of the top players in the nation on the board, general managers are faced with what appears to be one of the weakest drafts in years.

Most draft experts believe Derrick Williams and Kyrie Irving are locks to be the top two picks, but uncertainty looms throughout the lottery.

A host of European players figure to be selected in the top 10, while college superstars Kemba Walker and Jimmer Fredette figure to go in the lottery.

Following weeks of speculation, Colorado star Alec Burks finally announced his decision to declare for the draft Thursday.

The 6'6" sophomore was one of the best pure scorers in college basketball last season and brings outstanding potential to a class in desperate need of a boost.

How long will Burks stay on the board?  Read on to find out.
