NFL Lockout Ordered to End By Judge's Ruling
U.S. District Judge Susan Richard Nelson ordered that the NFL lockout end immediately on Monday April 25. Judge Nelson ruled in favor of the players who argued that the lockout was effectively hurting their careers.

According to the AP, Nelson said:
[The plaintiffs] have made a strong showing that allowing the League to continue their 'lockout' is presently inflicting, and will continue to inflict, irreparable harm upon them, particularly when weighed against the lack of any real injury that would be imposed on the NFL by issuing the preliminary injunction,
The owners however, immediately responded to the ruling by filing for an appeal stating that the district court has exceeded its jurisdiction.
This ruling is a small victory for the players, but we are still left with a whole lot of uncertainty as the NFL draft nears. A ruling on the appeal could drag on until later this summer which could delay or even potentially end the likelihood of having a regular season.
If the injunction is upheld, the owners will be forced to reopen for business. Which means this ruling gives the players a lot more bargaining power in case a deal could possibly be brokered before a decision non the appeal is announced.
