WWE Draft Preview: Where Does Ted DiBiase Go from Here?

At this time, one year ago, Ted DiBiase stayed on Raw as his former Legacy teammate Cody Rhodes was drafted to Smackdown in the WWE's supplemental draft.

At that time, DiBiase was looking like being the breakout star of Legacy.

He received the stable's old entrance theme, "It's a New Day," as well as his father's gimmick, complete with the Million Dollar Championship and former divas champion Maryse as his valet.

These ingredients would all lead to success, right?

Wrong.

DiBiase lost match after match against the likes of John Morrison, Goldust, Daniel Bryan, Yoshi Tatsu, Santino Marella, The Great Khali, Mark Henry and even former NXT rookies "Showtime" Percy Watson and Brodus Clay.

Maryse hasn't faired much better, either.

She's lost to the likes of Natalya, Gail Kim, Eve Torres and Tamina.

It seems that Maryse was getting more attention than DiBiase.

Things have really gone downhill for the Million Dollar Couple as the Kevin Rudolf-inspired "Let It Rock"-clone, "I Come From Money," became DiBiase's entrance theme.

To make matters worse, Rhodes was finding instant success on the blue brand, first with his "Dashing" gimmick, before evolving into a disfigured character who is stuck in a feud with Rey Mysterio.

Rhodes also gets plenty of heat thanks to his mic skills, something DiBiase apparently doesn't share.

Since Maryse has ditched the Unfortunate Son, I think it's time for DiBiase to start over on Friday nights.

In my opinion, DiBiase needs to turn face so that he can rekindle his feud against the Undashing One.

Will it work in the long run? We shall see.
